Blackburn Rovers is one of the very few clubs that can boast of having conceived both the football league and the Premier league. It is also the first club outside the current top four to win the Premier league after it was conceived in 1992. Only four clubs have won the Premier league up until now and Blackburn Rovers is also a part of that.

The club fell into bad times in the late 1990s and was relegated from the Premier league in 1999. However, the club came back to the Premier league after just two years and has enjoyed top flight football ever since. The club can also boast of having had players like Alan Shearer in their glory days in the mid-1990s. The club has also won league titles and FA cups prior to the inception of the Premier league. The club currently plays in the Ewood Park.
